Lakshmi - the Goddess of wealth, good fortune and success

Lakshmi is our Goddess of wealth and good fortune. Her husband is Lord Vishnu.

We pray to Lakshmi on Dhanterus which is the first day that marks the start of the festival of Diwali. On Dhanterus we do a Lakshmi pooja and also buy gold and silver on this day as it is considered very auspicious.
